Quick Change (1990)

Quick Change (1990), an American crime comedy film directed by Howard Franklin and Bill Murray, is based on the novel of the same name by Jay Cronley. In the movie, Grimm, dressed as a clown, cleverly robs a bank in midtown Manhattan with his girlfriend Phyllis and best friend Loomis. However, their simple heist turns into a chaotic nightmare when they try to make their getaway to catch a flight out of the country. The group must navigate through the chaos of New York City and its conspiring forces to reach the airport. Despite their initial plan to take the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, construction work has resulted in missing signs, leaving them lost in an unfamiliar Brooklyn neighborhood.
After being robbed by a conman or thief, the trio finds themselves stripped of their possessions, except for the money hidden under their clothes. They change into new outfits at Phyllis’s apartment but are then confronted by an anxious and paranoid new tenant who nearly shoots them. Meanwhile, a fire has broken out nearby and the arrival of the fire department causes their car to be moved and accidentally roll downhill and down an embankment. Eventually, they manage to hail a cab but the foreign driver struggles with speaking English, causing Loomis to panic and jump out in search of another cab. Unfortunately, his attempts result in him colliding with a newsstand and knocking himself unconscious.
