Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018) is an animated comedy film from Walt Disney Animation Studios, distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Following events from six years ago, Ralph and Vanellope remain close friends and spend their free time together at Litwak Arcade. While Ralph is content with their current routine, Vanellope craves something more exciting than the predictable nature of Sugar Rush. In an effort to please her, Ralph takes matters into his own hands and creates a secret track within the game. However, this plan backfires when the arcade player’s control breaks during Vanellope’s test run on the new track. With Sugar Rush’s manufacturer out of business and a replacement wheel being too expensive on eBay, Litwak decides to unplug the game and scrap it altogether. The surge protector steps in to temporarily find homes for all of Sugar Rush’s citizens while they work on saving their beloved game. In a heartwarming gesture, Felix and Calhoun offer to adopt the racers as part of this temporary solution.

Recalling their previous visit to eBay, Ralph and Vanellope journey through Litwak’s brand new Wi-Fi router to the Internet – a vast metropolis where websites are depicted as towering structures, users are represented by avatars, and digital programs take on human-like personas. Following the guidance of KnowsMore, they arrive at eBay once again and successfully secure the steering wheel in a heated auction that unintentionally drives the price up to US$27,001. However, they soon learn that their time is limited, with only 24 hours to raise the necessary funds or risk losing their bid and forfeiting the wheel. As they prepare to depart, they encounter J.P. Spamley – a seller of dubious items from video games who offers them an enticing proposition: steal a car from Shank, the formidable protagonist of popular racing battle royale game Slaughter Race. Despite successfully stealing Shank’s vehicle, their plans are foiled when she catches up to them within the game itself. Nevertheless, Shank presents them with another opportunity for making money on the Internet by creating a viral video featuring Ralph and uploading it onto popular video-sharing platform BuzzzTube.
