Regular Show (2010–2017), an American animated sitcom created by J. G. Quintel, aired on Cartoon Network from September 6, 2010, to January 16, 2017. The highly praised series spanned eight seasons and 261 episodes, earning a diverse fan base of all ages. However, it also faced criticism for its dark humor, sexual innuendos, violence, and mature themes. Despite this, Regular Show was a hit with ratings and received numerous award nominations. Notably, it won a Primetime Emmy Award for the episode Eggscellent (season 3, episode 18). The show’s popularity led to a film adaptation in 2015 titled Regular Show: The Movie. Inspired by his own college experience at the California Institute of the Arts, Quintel’s personal life heavily influenced the development of Regular Show.
The show centers on the daily routines of two 23-year-old pals, Mordecai and Rigby. They hold positions as groundskeepers at a park and frequently shirk their duties in favor of amusing themselves through various channels. This often annoys their boss Benson and coworker Skips, though it brings joy to park manager Pops. Their colleagues also include a chubby green man known as Muscle Man, and a ghost named Hi-Five Ghost, who serve as their competitive counterparts.
