Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016) is an action horror film written and directed by Paul W. S. Anderson. The story centers around Dr. James Marcus, founder of the Umbrella Corporation, who used an untested embryonic project called the T-virus to try to save his daughter Alicia from progeria. However, after one child treated with the virus turns into a zombie, Marcus orders the project shut down and all data destroyed. This deeply affects his colleague Dr. Charles Ashford, who needed the T-virus to save his own daughter Angela. Later on, Alice wakes up in the ruined White House after being betrayed by Albert Wesker, and is given 48 hours by the Red Queen to infiltrate the Hive – a facility located underneath Raccoon City – before it’s too late.
The Umbrella Corporation possesses an airborne anti-virus that eliminates zombies, but is still awaiting the eradication of the remaining human population. Due to carrying the virus herself, Alice does not anticipate surviving her current mission. While on her journey, she is captured by Isaacs and discovers that the ‘Isaacs’ she had previously killed was a clone. However, she manages to escape from his convoy and makes her way to Raccoon City where she meets a group of survivors including Doc, Abigail, Razor, and Claire Redfield who had also survived the attack on Arcadia. As Isaacs’ convoy approaches with a swarm of zombies close behind, Alice and her newfound allies successfully defeat them and rescue a few human captives. Tragically, Cobalt loses his life in the process.
