The DVD includes both the original broadcast version and an extended version with 15 minutes of extra footage not shown on TV. This outstanding animated program was even nominated for a 2009 Primetime Emmy Award.
Amidst the Ewoks’ jubilation over the destruction of the second Death Star, Boba Fett suddenly emerges from the Sarlacc pit unscathed. Armed with his laser blasters and lightsabers, he proceeds to eliminate a multitude of Ewoks before putting on a provocative performance that catches Leia’s attention in her slave attire. But before long, it is revealed that all of this was merely a figment of Robot Chicken’s Nerd’s imagination. The opening sequence, inspired by Robot Chicken: Star Wars but with modifications to incorporate elements from Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, showcases a partially constructed Death Star in the backdrop reminiscent of its appearance in Return of the Jedi.
