RocknRolla (2008)
RocknRolla (2008), a gangster crime comedy film by Guy Ritchie, follows the story of mob boss Lenny Cole as he dominates London’s real estate business with help from corrupt councillor and right-hand man Archy. When billionaire Russian businessman Uri Omovich plans a lucrative land deal, everyone in the city wants a piece of it — including Stella, Uri’s devious accountant, and a gang known as ‘The Wild Bunch’ led by small-time crook ‘One-Two’, his partner ‘Mumbles’, and their driver ‘Handsome Bob’. In exchange for €7,000,000 to bribe the Council, Uri lends Lenny his prized painting as a sign of trust. However, Stella betrays him by hiring the Wild Bunch to steal the money. Meanwhile, Lenny’s estranged and drug-addicted stepson Johnny Quid fakes his own death and steals the painting from Lenny’s office.
Desperate to get it back, Lenny and Archy force Johnny’s former talent managers Mickey and Roman to track him down. In a side story, Handsome Bob becomes friendly with Stella’s husband, a lawyer who has inside knowledge about an unknown informant in their criminal group. Once again, Uri asks Stella to discreetly take money from his accounts, despite his increasing distrust of her. However, when the Wild Bunch steals from him yet again, Uri’s assistant Victor suggests that Lenny is the culprit and suspects he is also hiding Uri’s prized painting. In response, Uri and Victor invite Lenny to a personal golf game where Victor uses a golf club to injure him as a reminder to return the painting.
