RRR (2022)

RRR (2022) (subtitled onscreen as Roudram Ranam Rudhiram) is an Indian Telugu-language epic period action drama film directed by S. S. Rajamouli, who co-wrote the story with V. Vijayendra Prasad. Set in 1920 during British rule, the tyrannical administrator Scott Buxton and his sadistic wife Catherine abduct Malli, a young girl from the Gond tribe known for her artistic talents. The tribe’s guardian Komaram Bheem is enraged and disguises himself as a Muslim man named Akhtar to rescue her. Meanwhile, the Nizamate of Hyderabad warns Scott’s office of the impending danger but Catherine enlists the help of ambitious officer A. Rama Raju to stop them. Raju and his uncle Venkateswarulu attend pro-independence gatherings in search of clues but their actions catch the attention of Lachhu, Bheem’s loyal aide. Lachhu falls for Raju’s trickery but flees when he discovers his true identity. Later, Bheem and Raju unknowingly unite to save a boy from a train wreck which sparks an unexpected friendship between them.

Raju helps Bheem woo Jenny, Scott’s niece, without realizing that Bheem plans to sneak into Scott’s home. While at a party with Jenny, Bheem discovers Malli is being held captive and vows to set her free. Meanwhile, Raju figures out who Lachhu really is and where he is hiding; he then captures him. During their interrogation, Lachhu tricks a banded krait into attacking Raju and warns him of his impending doom, revealing that only the Gonds know the antidote. Raju is stunned and seeks help from Bheem, who rushes to his aid. Raju notices similarities between Lachhu and Bheem’s religious features and realizes his true intentions. However, Bheem reveals his tribal identity and mission at an event honoring Scott, still unaware of Raju’s true identity. In a dramatic turn of events, Bheem’s men show up at Scott’s residence with a truck full of wild animals that cause chaos among the guests.
