Scream 4 (2011)

Scream 4 (2011) is an American slasher film helmed by director Wes Craven and penned by Kevin Williamson. The movie, which serves as a follow-up to 2000’s Scream 3, is produced by Outerbanks Entertainment and distributed by Dimension Films. During the week of the original Woodsboro murders’ 15th anniversary, high school students Jenny Randall and Marnie Cooper fall victim to Ghostface’s killing spree. In the midst of these events, Sidney Prescott returns to Woodsboro with her publicist Rebecca Walters to promote her self-help book. However, when incriminating evidence is found in her rental car, Sidney becomes a prime suspect and must remain in town until the killer is caught. Meanwhile, Sidney’s cousin Jill Roberts deals with her ex-boyfriend Trevor Sheldon’s infidelity while receiving threatening phone calls from Ghostface along with her friend Olivia Morris.

Jill and Olivia, accompanied by their mutual friend Kirby Reed, face questioning from Dewey Riley, who has now taken on the role of sheriff in the town. Deputies Judy Hicks, Anthony Perkins, and Ross Hoss are all working alongside him in the investigation. Meanwhile, Gale Weathers, Dewey’s spouse, is battling a case of writer’s block and takes it upon herself to look into the murders despite her husband’s objections. Later that evening, as Sidney stays with Jill and her aunt Kate, Ghostface strikes by killing Olivia while Jill and Kirby can only watch in terror from a distance. Soon after this horrific event, Ghostface turns his attention to Sidney herself until he is forced to flee once Perkins and Hoss arrive on the scene. At the hospital, after discovering Rebecca’s intention to exploit the killings for personal gain, Sidney dismisses her from her position. Tragically, not long afterwards Ghostface claims another victim in Rebecca at a nearby parking garage.
