Sharon Da Silva and her adoptive father Christopher have been living a nomadic life, frequently changing names and locations over the past few years. They currently go by Heather Mason and Harry Mason, respectively. Believing they are running from the law due to Harry’s act of self-defense which resulted in a death, Heather also holds onto the belief that her adoptive mother Rose Da Silva died in a car accident. However, she soon discovers that her father has been shielding her from the Order, a cult residing in Silent Hill. When Rose sacrificed herself to save Heather from the fog world using half of a talisman called the Seal of Metatron, she became trapped in Silent Hill.
Struggling with visions of Silent Hill, Heather meets Vincent Cooper, a fellow student, but is ultimately approached by private investigator Douglas Cartland who has questions about her true identity. After Heather’s father is abducted by the Order and taken to Silent Hill, she heads to a nearby mall to wait for him. However, things take a turn when she enters the Otherworld within the mall. It turns out that Douglas, who had been hired by the Order to find Heather, decides to assist her upon discovering the true identity of his employers. Unfortunately, he falls victim to a monster known as the Missionary. When Heather returns to reality and flees, she becomes a suspect in Douglas’ murder. She is then accompanied by Vincent back to her home, but they stumble upon a message instructing Heather to go back to Silent Hill.
