Smallfoot (2018)
Smallfoot (2018), an animated musical comedy, is a joint production of Warner Animation Group and Zaftig Films, and was released by Warner Bros. Pictures. The Yetis reside in a secluded village atop a Himalayan mountain, hidden beyond the clouds. Migo, a yeti who adheres to the ancient law held by their leader, the Stonekeeper, is faced with a dilemma when he becomes distracted by the Stonekeeper’s daughter, Meechee, and misses hitting the gong that ‘wakes up the sun’. During his gong-ringing lessons, Migo spots a plane crash nearby and discovers a human (‘smallfoot’), thought by yetis to be mythical. Despite his efforts to inform the villagers, Migo lacked evidence and was exiled from the village after being accused of lying by Stonekeeper.
Migo is surprised by the unexpected arrival of three rejected yetis, Gwangi, Kolka, and Fleem. They do not believe in the stones and take him to the Smallfoot Evidentiary Society (S.E.S.), led by Meechee. Despite Migo’s initial doubts, Meechee convinces him to venture below the clouds, where the stones claim there is nothing. When his rope breaks and he falls, Migo discovers land below. Meanwhile, Percy Patterson, a British documentary filmmaker whose viewership has declined, meets with a pilot who saw Migo. In an attempt to regain his fame, he asks his assistant Brenda to dress up as a yeti for filming but she refuses. Just then, Migo appears and unintentionally frightens Percy while trying to communicate with him. Their inability to understand each other only adds to the confusion. Percy tries to tranquilize Migo but accidentally hits himself instead. As Percy falls unconscious, Migo decides to bring him along by strapping him into a sleeping bag and carrying him on his chest for the return journey home.
