Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)

The American epic space opera film, Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens  (2015), was co-produced, co-written, and directed by J. J. Abrams. Three decades after the Battle of Endor, the once-defeated Galactic Empire has been replaced by the First Order, determined to overthrow the New Republic. In opposition, General Leia Organa leads the Resistance with support from the Republic. Searching for her missing twin brother Luke Skywalker, Leia enlists help from an old ally on Jakku, where Resistance pilot Poe Dameron receives a map to Luke’s whereabouts. However, their plans are interrupted when Kylo Ren and his First Order stormtroopers attack and capture Poe. Fortunately, Poe’s droid BB-8 escapes with the map and crosses paths with Rey, a lone scavenger. Through manipulation of the Force, Kylo interrogates Poe for information about BB-8’s location. As a result of this interrogation, disillusioned stormtrooper FN-2187 saves Poe and they flee in a stolen TIE fighter. Without a name given to him by the First Order, Poe decides to call FN-2187 ‘Finn’.

While en route to Jakku to retrieve BB-8, a First Order Star Destroyer opens fire on them, causing their vessel to crash. Finn survives the collision and assumes Poe did not make it after coming across his jacket in the wreckage. Later, Finn encounters both Rey and BB-8, but before they can regroup, the First Order tracks them down and launches an airstrike. In a daring escape, Rey, Finn, and BB-8 manage to steal the Millennium Falcon and flee from Jakku. However, their luck runs out when Han Solo and Chewbacca discover them on board the iconic ship. During their journey together, they are ambushed by various gangs seeking revenge against Han. Despite these obstacles, our heroes are able to evade capture and continue on their journey. Meanwhile at the Starkiller Base – a planet converted into a superweapon – Supreme Leader Snoke grants General Hux’s request to use the weapon for the first time against the New Republic.
