Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008–2020), created by George Lucas, is a popular computer-animated television series in the Star Wars multimedia franchise. It takes place during the time period of its prequel trilogy, with seasons 1-6 covering the three years between Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002) and Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005). Meanwhile, the first eight episodes of the final season also occur during this time period, with the last 4 episodes taking place concurrently with Revenge of the Sith. Initially receiving positive reviews and later earning critical acclaim, The Clone Wars was a huge success in terms of ratings and became Cartoon Network’s top-rated show during its initial run. Star Wars: The Clone Wars, set in the Star Wars prequel trilogy era, spans three years between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. The cast includes familiar faces like Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Padmé Amidala, Yoda, and Mace Windu, as well as new additions like Anakin’s Padawan Ahsoka Tano and clone Captain Rex of the 501st Legion. At its core, the series follows the conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, led by Count Dooku. On one side are the Jedi Knights and their army of clone troopers, while on the other are droid armies commanded by General Grievous. However, behind-the-scenes manipulation from Darth Sidious drives both sides towards his ultimate goal – the downfall of the Jedi and his own rise to power over the galaxy.
