In Stargate: Continuum (2008), a science fiction movie directed by Martin Wood and written by Brad Wright, SG-1 and Jack O’Neill attend a Tok’ra extraction ceremony for Ba’al, the final System Lord of the Goa’uld. However, Ba’al claims to be just one of his many clones and reveals that the true Ba’al has a plan in place. This real Ba’al travels back in time to 1939 and destroys the crew of the Achilles, where the Stargate was being transported to the US. The captain manages to save the ship from complete destruction by dropping a bomb left behind by Ba’al. In present times, strange disappearances occur, including those of Vala Mal Doran and Teal’c. Jack is killed by the clone, but Samantha Carter, Daniel Jackson and Cameron Mitchell make it through the Stargate only to find themselves on board the abandoned Achilles in the Arctic – altering history so that there was never a Stargate Program at all.
After narrowly escaping the sinking Achilles, a team led by Colonel Jack O’Neill rescues them. Despite undergoing intense interrogation by General Landry, their story is believed. However, they are not given permission to alter the timeline. In this alternate reality, Daniel continues to struggle in convincing others of his theories about the pyramids. Sadly, Carter has passed away in a space shuttle accident and Mitchell is non-existent due to his grandfather being the captain of the Achilles. The three are then forced to lead separate lives under strict authority orders with no contact allowed between them. A year goes by and SG-1 receives a call to return to action as Goa’uld scoutships reappear.
