Stark Raving Mad (2002)
Stark Raving Mad (2002) is a film from A Band Apart. It centers around a heist planned during a rave. Drew Daywalt took on the role of director and writer for this movie. The story follows the events of one night at a nightclub where the main character, Ben, has rented out the venue. The club owner is not pleased with the noise levels, fearing consequences for his license. However, this noise serves as a cover for an elaborate bank heist orchestrated by Ben in order to pay off his own debts and those of his deceased brother to a local Chinese crime boss. Time is of the essence as Ben must complete the mission before dawn to ensure his survival.
In order to successfully carry out his plan, he enlists the help of three seasoned bank robbers while he and his assistant oversee the smooth operation of the club night. Unfortunately, things do not go according to plan. While two FBI agents happen to be present in the club, monitoring a potential drug deal, a fortuitous encounter with a Chinese food delivery boy aids in covering up any suspicious noises from the basement. Eventually, they are able to empty the bank vault and cunningly frame both the crime lord and his rival Chinese gang for stealing their own money when the alarm is triggered.
