Starsky & Hutch (2004)
Directed by Todd Phillips, Starsky & Hutch (2004) is an American comedy featuring two Bay City Police detectives. David Starsky, known for his love of his 1974 Ford Gran Torino and his tendency to recklessly chase minor offenders, is paired with the laid-back Ken ‘Hutch’ Hutchinson as punishment for their recent escapades. As they adjust to working together, they stumble upon a new form of untraceable cocaine developed by drug lord Reese Feldman and his associate Kevin. When one of Feldman’s dealers fails him, he resorts to violence and disposes of the body in the bay.
Several days later, the body washes up on shore, prompting an investigation by Starsky and Hutch. While examining the scene, they come across a clue that leads them to Feldman. Despite his denial of any involvement in the crime, his wife reveals that he had been seeing a cheerleader. Eager for more information, the detectives seek out cheerleaders Stacey and Holly. During their encounter, Heather, another cheerleader, unintentionally causes an awkward situation by undressing in front of them. Seeking help from their informant Huggy Bear, they are directed to Big Earl’s motorcycle bar. To blend in with the crowd, they disguise themselves as ‘Captain America’ and ‘Billy’ from Easy Rider.
