Together, they run Quikee Burger in Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard, known for their guarantee of free meals if orders take longer than three minutes to complete. Their seamless teamwork and synchronicity are apparent in their business. Walt is comfortable around women, but Bob struggles with shyness and has a long-distance relationship with his pen pal May Fong from California. Keeping his conjoined twin status a secret from her. When Walt’s one-man show becomes a success, he convinces hesitant Bob to join him on the journey to Hollywood to fulfill his dreams.
Bob and Walt rent an apartment in California, where they make friends with fellow aspiring actress April Mercedes. When April asks about their conjoinment, Walt reveals that they share a liver, which is mostly Bob’s. Due to the risky nature of surgical separation for Walt, Bob refuses to consent even though Walt desires it. This is also why Walt appears older than Bob. Despite struggling to find acting gigs in Hollywood, Walt’s agent Morty O’Reilly offers little support and even suggests a role in a pornographic film at one point. Meanwhile, Cher is unhappy with her leading role in the prime-time TV show ‘Honey and the Beaze’. Desperate for a way out, she hires Walt as her co-star, convinced it will lead to the show’s cancellation. However, the producers catch onto her plan and outsmart her by compensating for Bob’s presence through creative camera work and bluescreen effects.
