Suicide Squad (2016)

Suicide Squad (2016) is an American superhero film based on the DC Comics team of supervillains and anti-heroes who share the same name. In response to Superman’s death, US intelligence officer Amanda Waller successfully convinces the government to launch Task Force X. This team consists of criminals and supervillains who will work together to combat any metahuman threats under Waller’s control. To ensure their obedience, each member has a nanite bomb implanted in their neck that can be triggered remotely if they attempt to rebel or escape. As an added incentive, their sentences will be reduced if they are successful in their mission. The role of Enchantress, a witch possessing American archaeologist Dr. June Moone, falls under Waller’s jurisdiction as she holds her magical heart that can harm her when struck. Another key member of Task Force X is Colonel Rick Flag who is in love with Moone and serves as a lead member on the team.

However, things take a turn when Enchantress betrays Waller, taking over Midway City and transforming humans into monstrous creatures while summoning her brother Incubus to destroy mankind. Task Force X, formed to stop Enchantress, is made up of six inmates from Belle Reve penitentiary. The roster includes hitman Deadshot, who is eager to reunite with his daughter Zoe. Along with Deadshot, there is Harley Quinn, a volatile and crazed former psychiatrist who now serves as the girlfriend of Gotham crime lord Joker. Other members include Australian thief Captain Boomerang, pyrokinetic ex-gangster El Diablo, mutant cannibal Killer Croc, and rope-climbing mercenary Slipknot. The team is led by Flag and joined by his associate Katana, a Japanese swordswoman. Both Waller and Flag purposely conceal their connection to Moone from the rest of the team. Upon reaching Midway City, the team’s helicopter is shot down, forcing them to continue on foot.
