Supergirl (2015–2021) is an American superhero drama television series based on the DC Comics character of the same name. Developed by Ali Adler, Greg Berlanti, and Andrew Kreisberg, it originally aired on CBS before moving to the CW from 2015 to 2021. In the first season, Kara, also known as Supergirl, reluctantly reveals her powers as she becomes National City’s protector. However, in doing so, she uncovers a shocking truth – that many criminals her mother had imprisoned are hiding on Earth, including her own aunt Astra and her husband Non. Working alongside her adoptive sister Alex Danvers, Kara teams up with allies such as James Olsen and Winn Schott to take down these dangerous threats. In the second season, new challenges arise as tensions between Earthlings and extraterrestrials escalate. Kara also finds herself at odds with Lillian Luthor and her organization Project Cadmus. On a more personal note, she forms a friendship with Lillian’s daughter Lena Luthor and grapples with complicated feelings for Mon-El – a survivor from Daxam who is caught in the middle of his parents’ control over him.

In season three, Kara faces the loss of Mon-El when he is forced to leave Earth. However, his return brings some unexpected revelations – he has time-traveled to the 31st century, founded the Legion, and married Imra Ardeen. J’onn makes a shocking discovery that his father M’yrnn J’onzz is still alive, while Alex deals with her heartache from her breakup with Maggie. A new friend, Samantha Arias, goes through a drastic transformation when she discovers she is also a Kryptonian survivor and becomes known as Reign – a deadly weapon intent on destroying the world. Moving into season four, Kara must confront a new wave of anti-alien sentiment sparked by Lex Luthor’s machinations from prison. This forces her to fight for equal rights for extraterrestrials. Meanwhile, Ben Lockwood seeks revenge against aliens after enduring personal tragedies at their hands and forms the ‘Children of Liberty’. And in Kasnia, Lex recruits and trains a clone of Kara – dubbed ‘Red Daughter’ – to take down Supergirl.

In season five, CatCo. welcomes a new editor-in-chief, Andrea Rojas. The arrival of this new leader coincides with Kara and her friends facing a formidable threat from an organization known as Leviathan. After the universe-altering Crisis event, Kara learns to navigate life on the newly formed ‘Earth-Prime’ while working under Lex Luthor, who is connected to Leviathan’s secret operations led by Gamemnae. In the sixth and final installment, Lex seizes the opportunity to finish what the Anti-Monitor started by imprisoning Kara in the Phantom Zone. With her friends determined to bring her back and Kara discovering her father’s presence in the Phantom Zone, they must also contend with Nyxlygsptlnz – a 5th Dimension Imp seeking revenge against her own father King Brpxz – who has also escaped from the Phantom Zone. As events continue to unfold, Lex Luthor becomes entangled in Nyxlygsptlnz’s plans as well.
