Tangled: Before Ever After (2017)

Tangled: Before Ever After (2017) is an American 2D-animated musical fantasy television film from Disney Television Animation. Premiering on Disney Channel as a Disney Channel Original Movie, Six months after the events of Tangled, Rapunzel prepares to officially become the Princess of Corona. However, the day before her coronation ceremony, she and Eugene Fitzherbert, riding Maximus and Fidella, race through the forest with the Royal Guards following closely behind. Swiftly reaching the border wall, Rapunzel climbs to the top and gazes upon the breathtaking view of the land beyond her kingdom. Eventually, they are caught by the guards and returned to the castle where Cassandra, Rapunzel’s lady-in-waiting, awaits her. Given the task of helping Rapunzel adjust to life as a princess, Cassandra accompanies her back inside.

Although Rapunzel is happy to be reunited with her parents, adjusting to her new life as a princess proves to be a struggle. Despite her best efforts, she feels overwhelmed by the immense responsibility that comes with royalty. King Frederic’s fear of losing her again leads him to deny her desire for adventure and tighten security measures around her. As the eve of her coronation approaches, Eugene musters up the courage to propose to Rapunzel. She is taken aback yet thrilled, but ultimately turns down his proposal as she does not feel ready for marriage. Concerned for Rapunzel’s well-being, Cassandra suggests sneaking out and exploring beyond Corona’s heavily guarded walls. Together, they venture into the woods where Cassandra reveals the location of the healing flower that once saved Rapunzel and her mother. However, they are shocked to find that it has been replaced by indestructible thorn-like rocks.
