Tangled Ever After (2012) is a six-minute American computer-animated short film written and directed by Nathan Greno and Byron Howard. On the big day of Rapunzel and Eugene’s wedding, Pascal and Maximus take on the role of ring bearers, scattering petals along the aisle. However, during the ceremony, a mishap occurs when one of the flowers falls causing Maximus to sneeze and launch the rings out of the castle. As panic ensues, the priest urgently asks for the rings, but to no avail. The situation becomes even more dire when it is revealed that the missing rings belonged to the Queen’s grandmother. Amidst chaos and explosions (which later turn out to be Maximus’ daydream), they embark on a frantic search for the lost rings, only to have them propelled in opposite directions.
As one of them lands in a pot of soup, Pascal takes it upon himself to retrieve it. As he emerges from the pot, chaos ensues as he searches for the ring amidst the scattered tables. Meanwhile, Maximus chases after the other ring but gets sidetracked by shoes, make-up, hats, and dresses. In a comical turn of events, he ends up dressed as a lady and is mistaken for one by a male horse who falls head over heels for him. After kicking off the amorous horse, Maximus refocuses on his mission to find the ring. Just as Pascal manages to free his stuck tongue from the ice, he accidentally lands on a waiter’s foot causing him to drop a tray of lintels onto the slippery surface. The lintels launch into the air and Maximus swiftly grasps hold of the other ring before disaster strikes again. However, unbeknownst to him, an ice sculpture collides with the catapult he is sitting on and launches him into midair. Fortunately (or perhaps unfortunately), this trajectory leads him straight towards the ceremony where he dramatically crash-lands in a carriage and resumes his pursuit of the ring.
