Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)

A slasher flick, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022), is directed by David Blue Garcia and features a screenplay by Chris Thomas Devlin. Fede Álvarez and Rodo Sayagues contribute to the story. Serving as the ninth installment in the franchise, it takes place half a century after Leatherface’s infamous killing spree in 1973. The plot revolves around Melody and Dante, along with their companions Lila and Ruth, who journey to the abandoned town of Harlow in Texas to auction off some old properties. As they explore an abandoned orphanage during their visit, they encounter Ginny – an elderly woman who still resides there. A heated disagreement ensues when Ginny claims to have legal ownership of the property, but it is soon interrupted by a tall and enigmatic man from upstairs. Just then, Ginny suffers a heart attack and must be quickly taken to the hospital. Ruth offers to accompany her, along with the mysterious man who barely speaks. Meanwhile, Melody and Dante are distracted by the arrival of an investor named Catherine and other potential buyers on a large bus. As all this unfolds, Lila strikes up a friendship with Richter – a local mechanic – and shares her harrowing experience of surviving a school shooting

Upon awakening, Ruth is confronted with the sight of a man, later revealed to be Leatherface, using Ginny’s face as a makeshift mask. As Melody reads through Ruth’s messages during a property auction, she and Lila prepare to depart. Meanwhile, back at the orphanage, Sally Hardesty, a seasoned Texas Ranger and sole survivor of Leatherface’s previous rampage, receives word of the attack and sets off to investigate. Upon arriving at the orphanage, Melody stumbles upon incriminating documents that prove Ginny was unjustly evicted. In that moment, Leatherface appears and launches an attack on Dante.
