The Croods: A New Age (2020)

The Croods: A New Age (2020) is an American animated adventure comedy film created by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Universal Pictures. The familiar group, including Guy, their beloved pets Chunky and Douglas, are still on a quest to find a suitable place to settle down while facing perilous creatures. Grug, the family leader, grows concerned about the blossoming romance between Guy and his daughter Eep, worried they may abandon the rest of the family. Their journey takes an unexpected turn when they stumble upon a towering wall and discover a paradise-like land on the other side. However, their newfound paradise comes with a catch – it is owned by Phil and Hope Betterman, old friends of Guy’s parents who have become technologically advanced and somewhat patronizing toward the Croods. Phil and Hope hope to convince Guy to stay with them, believing it would be in his best interest, and come up with a scheme to persuade him to leave the rest of his family behind. Grug’s time with the Betterman family becomes uncomfortable as he is manipulated by Phil into thinking that staying with them is better for Guy in exchange for Eep remaining with her family. Despite Hope’s attempts to sway Ugga as well.

Eep makes a startling discovery when she learns that Dawn, the daughter of Phil and Hope, has never left the inside of the wall. Feeling alone, Eep convinces Dawn to join her for a ride on Chunky, but their excursion doesn’t go as planned. Guy is upset with Eep for her risky behavior, causing a rift between them. As tensions escalate at dinner, Grug mistakenly reveals their plan with Phil. Tired of the Betterman’s attitude and their disagreements, the Croods decide to leave while Guy chooses to stay behind. However, their departure is interrupted by an attack from vindictive Punch Monkeys who are angry that the Croods have been consuming Phil’s daily banana offerings. The Punch Monkeys capture Grug, Phil and Guy and take them away. Meanwhile, the remaining Croods and Bettermans become stranded in a frozen wasteland where they encounter Wolf-Spiders. During their time together, Hope overcomes her prejudice against the Croods and welcomes them as equals. They dub themselves ‘The Thunder Sisters’. Eventually, they find their missing loved ones and rescue them from danger.
