Armed men stand watch while a third figure carrying a box trips and spills jewels from the top floor of a building. As they attempt to clean up the mess, a bat-shaped shadow passes over them, startling them into drawing their guns. While they focus on the skies, the third thief is swiftly taken down by a mysterious bat-like figure with one powerful punch. The remaining thieves fire at their attacker but he evades each bullet with ease.
He then takes the offensive and brings them both to the ground. One of the criminals reaches for his gun again but is swiftly disarmed by a batarang. Despite being punched by Batman, he refuses to give up and puts up a brief fight before being defeated. Just as Batman finishes his foe, Commissioner James Gordon and the police arrive on scene to witness Batman’s swift escape into the night sky.
