The Hangover (2009)

The Hangover (2009) is an American comedy film directed by Todd Phillips and written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore. Just two days before his wedding, bachelor Doug Billings takes a trip to Las Vegas with his closest friends. These include Phil Wenneck, a sarcastic elementary school teacher, Stu Price, an apprehensive dentist, and Alan Garner, his quirky future brother-in-law. Sid, the father of Doug’s fiancée Tracy, kindly lends them his vintage Mercedes-Benz W111 for the journey. The group settles into their suite at Caesars Palace and kicks off their celebration with shots of Jägermeister on the hotel rooftop. However, when they awaken the next day, Phil Stu and Alan are met with a confusing situation- they can’t remember anything from the previous night. They quickly realize that Doug is missing and things only get more chaotic from there; Stu discovers his tooth is gone while they come across a tiger in the bathroom and a baby in the closet. To top it all off, their car has turned into a police cruiser overnight.

As they retraced their steps, the trio made their way to a hospital. It was there that they discovered the reason behind their memory loss – they had been drugged with Rohypnol. And as it turned out, they had ended up at the hospital after leaving a chapel the previous night. At the chapel, they discovered that Stu had surprisingly gotten married to a call girl named Jade, despite already being in a relationship with his controlling and unfaithful girlfriend Melissa. However, things took an unexpected turn when gangsters suddenly attacked them outside of the chapel, demanding to know the whereabouts of someone known as ‘he’. Confused and scared, they fled and eventually found Jade, who was revealed to be the mother of a baby they were now responsible for. The situation escalated when they were arrested by police for stealing a cruiser, but luckily they were released after agreeing to participate in an impromptu taser demonstration.
