Pictures. This film marks the final chapter in The Hangover trilogy. After two years since their last escapade in Bangkok, Leslie Chow breaks free during a prison riot in Thailand. Meanwhile, Alan Garner causes chaos on the freeway when he buys a giraffe and accidentally decapitates it on an overpass. This incident leads to his father, Sid’s, death from a heart attack while scolding him for his reckless behavior. Upon learning about Alan’s recent antics, Doug Billings informs Phil Wenneck and Stu Price that Alan has been off his ADHD medication and needs help.
An intervention is held where Alan agrees to seek treatment at a rehabilitation facility in Arizona as long as his friends (or ‘Wolfpack’) take him there. While driving his minivan, Phil is run off the road by a rental truck. The Wolfpack is then held captive and later meets with crime boss Marshall, who has appointed “Black Doug” as his top enforcer. Marshall explains that after their wild time in Las Vegas, Chow stole half of a $42 million gold heist. He believes that since Alan has been the only one keeping in touch with Chow while he was in jail, they can use this to locate Chow and retrieve the gold. To ensure their cooperation, Marshall takes Doug with him and gives them three days to find Chow or risk losing Doug’s life. Alan arranges a meeting with Chow in Tijuana, where Stu and Phil will hide and try to drug him.
