The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (2015)

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 (2015) is an American thriller directed by Francis Lawrence and written by Peter Craig and Danny Strong. It is adapted from Suzanne Collins’ novel Mockingjay (2010). After being assaulted by a brainwashed Peeta Mellark, Katniss Everdeen recuperates in District 13. President Alma Coin holds back Katniss from heading to the Capitol until they take control of the last district, District 2. To persuade District 2 to join their cause, Katniss joins the rebellion’s attack on the Capitol’s armory in District 2. During this time, Johanna provides cover for Katniss as she secretly boards a helicopter bound for the Capitol. Upon arrival, she becomes part of the Star Squad, a specialized military unit led by Gale and Finnick.

After receiving suicide pills for potential capture, Peeta joins the team despite not being fully recovered. The group, led by Boggs, navigates through the ruins of the city while avoiding deadly ‘pods’ planted by the Capitol using Boggs’ holographic map. Tragically, Boggs is fatally wounded by one of these pods and entrusts Katniss with the map, while also warning her about President Coin’s hidden agenda. As they continue their journey, the squad becomes trapped in a building with Peacekeepers hot on their trail. In order to allow the others to escape, two members – the Leeg sisters – decide to stay behind as a distraction. As planned, the Peacekeepers destroy the building and announce Katniss’s death, but are soon interrupted by Coin who delivers a moving eulogy to inspire the rebels.
