The British television espionage drama, The Little Drummer Girl (2018), is an adaptation of John le Carré’s novel of the same name from 1983. It debuted with six episodes on BBC One in the United Kingdom on 28 October 2018 and on AMC in the United States during November of that year. Set in 1979, the series follows a young English actress who is approached by Mossad to go undercover and thwart a Palestinian terrorist group’s plans in Europe.
In The Little Drummer Girl, the boundaries between love and hate, truth and fiction, and right and wrong are blurred as the story unfolds. Against the backdrop of late 1970s international intrigue, Charlie, a passionate actress with strong beliefs, is thrust into a suspenseful web of espionage when she meets the enigmatic Becker on vacation in Greece. As it becomes clear that Becker’s motives are not as they appear, Charlie finds herself caught up in a intricate scheme orchestrated by the cunning Kurtz. She must grapple with her own allegiances while assuming the role of a double agent unlike any she has played before.
