The Man from Toronto (2022)

The upcoming action comedy film, The Man from Toronto (2022), directed by Patrick Hughes, features Teddy Jackson, a struggling fitness entrepreneur from Yorktown, Virginia, lost his job at a local gym for distributing brochures without the necessary address. Keeping this setback to himself, he decides to surprise his wife Lori with a trip to Onancock for her birthday. While she enjoys a day at the spa, Teddy mistakenly arrives at the wrong cabin and finds himself in the middle of a hostage situation involving a man named Coughlin. Unknowingly mistaken for “the Man from Toronto”, an elusive assassin known for his harsh interrogation tactics, Teddy somehow manages to coerce vital information out of Coughlin. The situation escalates when FBI agents raid the cabin and enlist Teddy’s help in apprehending Colonel Marin, an aspiring Venezuelan dictator. In exchange for their assistance in paying off his overdue mortgage, the FBI persuades Teddy to pose as “the Man from Toronto” and aid in capturing Colonel Marin.

Teddy’s green-eyed monster rears its head as an agent tags along with Lori and Anne on a day of indulgence in Washington, D.C. The agent informs the ladies that Teddy’s job is footing the bill for their outing. While in Toronto, Teddy crosses paths with Daniela, Marin’s wife, who arranges for him to fly to San Juan, Puerto Rico. His mission: identify Green, Coughlin’s partner, and deliver him to the Colonel in D.C. On his way there, Teddy falls into an ambush set by Randy (a.k.a. the Man from Toronto). In a bid to fulfill his $2 million contract by pretending to be Toronto himself, Randy informs his Handler who sends yet another assassin – this time the Man from Miami. Eventually, Randy and Teddy end up at a tech conference where Green’s research team has been taken into custody by Marin’s men.
