The Million Dollar Hotel (2000)
The drama film, The Million Dollar Hotel (2000), is based on a concept story by Bono and Nicholas Klein, and directed by Wim Wenders. It centers around the supposed murder of Izzy Goldkiss and the investigation led by FBI Agent Skinner to uncover the killer. As he arrives at the ‘hotel’, he encounters a diverse group of forgotten individuals living in the city. Among them are Geronimo, a self-proclaimed Native American artist, Dixie, known as the ‘fifth’ Beatle still awaiting recognition and royalty payments, Eloise, the neighborhood ‘whore’, and Tom-Tom, who is considered the ‘village idiot’ but holds the trust of everyone in the hotel. While Agent Skinner has a limited time to crack the case, his task becomes complicated when the residents hatch a plan to sell off Izzy’s famous ‘Tar Paintings’.
