The Occupant (2020)
The Occupant (2020), a Spanish thriller drama directed and written by David Pastor and Àlex Pastor, follows middle-aged Javier Muñoz as he realizes his advertising success is in the past. Competitors younger and more creative have taken over the market, forcing him to seek new employment. Financial struggles plague Javier and his family as bills pile up. To make ends meet, they must sell their luxurious apartment with a stunning view and move to a less prestigious area, leaving behind only an expensive car.
Despite his efforts to find work, Javier is unsuccessful and haunted by memories of his old apartment. His former home is now occupied by the family of successful businessman Thomas, whom Javier begins to obsess over. Determined to reclaim what was once his, Javier takes drastic measures to steal the life of the younger and more prosperous Thomas.
