The School for Good and Evil (2022)
The American fantasy film, The School for Good and Evil (2022), was directed by Paul Feig and written by Feig and David Magee. It is based on Soman Chainani’s 2013 novel of the same name. The School for Good and Evil was founded by twin brothers Rhian and Rafal in order to train fairy tale heroes, known as “Evers,” and villains, known as “Nevers.” However, Rafal grew tired of constantly being under the control of good and used blood magic to attack Rhian. The two brothers appeared to fall off a cliff during their confrontation, with it being assumed that Rafal perished.
Years later, in the village of Gavaldon, best friends Sophie and Agatha discover the fabled school thanks to the bookshop owner. Despite Agatha’s doubts, fairy tale-enthusiast Sophie yearns to escape their mundane existence and become a princess. One night, Sophie makes a secret attempt to flee from Gavaldon. However, when Agatha discovers her plans and tries to stop her, a colossal stymph bird swoops down and carries them away to the School.
