The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006) serves as a prequel to the 2003 film and is the sixth installment in the franchise. Penned by Sheldon Turner from a story co-written with David J. Schow, the film was directed by Jonathan Liebesman. Set in 1939, it follows the story of a baby who is abandoned in a dumpster by his mother during childbirth at a Texas slaughterhouse. The child is later found and raised as Thomas by Luda Mae Hewitt, who discovers him on her property. Thirty years later, Thomas still works at the same slaughterhouse under the supervision of the man who left him to die. After being forced out of his job when the plant is shut down, he takes revenge on his former supervisor by killing him with a hammer and then finding and using a chainsaw. When Sheriff Hoyt comes to arrest him, Thomas’ ‘brother’ Charlie Hewitt steps in and kills Hoyt before taking on his identity.
Meanwhile, brothers Eric and Dean, along with their girlfriends Chrissie and Bailey, are on a road trip to enlist in the Vietnam War. During a stop at a diner, they encounter a biker gang. One of the bikers follows them on her motorcycle and pulls out a shotgun, forcing them to pull over. The car crashes during the chaos and Chrissie is thrown into a nearby field. When a man named Hoyt arrives, he kills the biker and orders the group to put Chrissie’s body in his car. He then calls for Uncle Monty to tow their damaged jeep. Upon arriving at the Hewitt house, Hoyt has another man named Thomas butcher the biker’s body. Meanwhile, Chrissie hides in the jeep as Holden, the biker’s boyfriend, comes looking for her. She flags him down and they go back to the house together.
