The Wall (2017)

Directed by Doug Liman and written by Dwain Worrell, The Wall (2017) is an American war thriller depicting the events of the Iraq War. In the desert of the country, U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Shane Matthews is a sniper tasked with investigating a pipeline construction site alongside his spotter, Sergeant Allen Isaac. After 22 hours of patient surveillance, they conclude that the area is safe. However, as Matthews begins to inspect the site, he is fatally shot by an Iraqi sniper. Isaac attempts to save him but ends up getting injured in his right knee and losing his radio and water bottle in the process.
U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Shane Matthews, a skilled sniper, is dispatched to a pipeline construction site in the Iraqi desert along with his spotter, Sergeant Allen Isaac. After keeping watch for 22 hours, they determine that the site is clear and Matthews begins his investigation. However, he is suddenly shot by an unseen enemy sniper. In an attempt to save Matthews, Isaac rushes to his aid but suffers injuries to his right knee and damage to his radio and water bottle in the process. Left alone behind a precarious wall, Isaac tends to his wounds. Unbeknownst to him, the sniper is listening in on American communications and uses this knowledge to pretend to be a high-ranking ally stationed at another location in order to extract valuable information from Isaac.
