This Means War (2012)
This Means War (2012) is an American romantic comedy spy film directed by McG and produced by Will Smith. CIA agents, Franklin ‘FDR’ Foster and Tuck Hansen, are sent to Hong Kong to stop international criminal Karl Heinrich from obtaining a weapon of mass destruction. Despite their best efforts, the mission goes wrong and results in the death of Heinrich’s brother, Jonas. As revenge, Heinrich vows to get back at them. Upon their return to the US, their boss Collins assigns them desk duty for their safety. Tuck is divorced with a young son named Joe. While accompanying Joe to his karate class, Tuck tries to reconnect with his family but is rejected by his ex-wife Katie. Tuck then turns to online dating after seeing a commercial and matches with Lauren Scott, an executive dealing with her ex-boyfriend’s recent engagement.
Lauren’s friend Trish sets up her profile on the website. FDR insists on being Tuck’s support during the date but stays hidden nearby as Tuck and Lauren hit it off. FDR encounters Lauren at a video store and makes attempts to charm her, but she brushes him off. Curiosity piqued, FDR crashes one of Lauren’s test groups and pressures her into agreeing to a date. FDR and Tuck later come to the realization that they are both interested in the same woman. However, they decide not to disclose their connection, leaving the decision up to her. The initial part of Lauren’s date with FDR is unpleasant, resulting in her storming out. After an argument with FDR, Lauren catches sight of her ex-boyfriend and his fiancée heading towards them. In a moment of desperation, Lauren grabs FDR and plants a kiss on him. She lies to her ex about being together with FDR, who plays along.
