Toy Story That Time Forgot (2014)

The American computer-animated Christmas television special, Toy Story That Time Forgot (2014), was produced by Pixar Animation Studios and aired on ABC on December 2, 2014. Trixie, a toy triceratops, is frustrated with Bonnie’s lack of dinosaur playtime. A few days after Christmas, Bonnie brings Trixie, Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Rex, and Christmas ornament Angel Kitty to her friend Mason’s house for a play date. However, instead of playing with her toys, Bonnie joins Mason in playing his new video game console and leaves the toys in Mason’s playroom. There, they encounter a large ‘Battlesaurs’ playset that Mason received for Christmas. This playset includes humanoid-dinosaur-hybrid action figures such as the brave Reptillus Maximus and pteranodon-like shaman The Cleric. Excited to finally interact as dinosaurs, Trixie and Rex arm themselves as warriors while Woody and Buzz are taken captive without their knowledge.

Reptillus and Trixie quickly form a strong bond, but it is soon revealed that the Battlesaurs have never been played with and are unaware of their status as toys. To Trixie’s shock, Mason’s other toys are viciously attacked in an arena. Despite being brought in to fight, Woody and Buzz are saved by Trixie. However, her actions anger the Cleric due to her bearing Bonnie’s name on her foot. As she flees to get Bonnie’s help, Reptillus is sent after her. Showing him his own toy package further enrages him. Inside the arena, the Cleric takes control of Rex’s robotic weapons and forces him to capture Woody and Buzz. It becomes clear that the Cleric is aware of their existence as toys and has complete control over both Mason and the playroom. The ultimate goal is to destroy Woody, Buzz, and Angel Kitty by throwing them into the air vent.
