Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014)

Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) is an American science fiction action film based on Hasbro’s popular toy line. Sixty-five million years ago, an alien race known as the ‘Creators’ used special tools known as Seeds to cover Earth with a unique metallic substance called ‘Transformium’, resulting in the extinction of the dinosaurs. In the present day, geologist Darcy Tirrel excavates the Transformium for K.S.I. Industries, who then utilize it to create powerful Transformer drones. However, after the disastrous Battle of Chicago, humans now see Transformers as threats and cut off all partnerships with them. Despite claims of providing refuge to Autobots, a rogue CIA black ops team named Cemetery Wind, led by deceitful intelligence agent Harold Attinger, starts hunting down all Transformers under the belief that they pose a risk and must be eliminated. In this tense time, Lockdown – a Cybertronian hitman working for the Creators – is given the task to locate Optimus Prime.

In return, Attinger receives a Seed if his division successfully captures Optimus. Ratchet is located and killed by Lockdown when he refuses to reveal Optimus’s whereabouts. Following extensive damage in Mexico City, Optimus takes refuge in Texas where he is found by Cade Yeager, a struggling inventor and single father. While his daughter Tessa and business partner Lucas Flannery urge him to hand over Optimus to the authorities, Cade chooses to repair the damaged Autobot. After learning of a reward for capturing Optimus, Lucas informs the authorities which leads to an attack on the Yeager farm by James Savoy, acting on behalf of Attinger. However, Optimus and Tessa’s secret boyfriend Shane Dyson, who happens to be an Irish rally car driver, come to their rescue. During the chase that follows, one of Lockdown’s grenades results in Lucas’ death. In response, Optimus calls upon his remaining companions – Bumblebee, Hound, Drift, and Crosshairs.
