Traveler (2007)
The thriller drama series, Traveler (2007), aired on ABC in the United States from May to July 2007. Produced by Warner Bros. Television, it follows the story of Jay Burchell and Tyler Fog, graduate students who are suspected of bombing the Drexler Museum in New York while playing a prank. Their friend and roommate, Will Traveler, seems to have set them up for the crime before disappearing without a trace. Now on the run as accused domestic terrorists, Jay and Tyler search for clues about Will’s past in hopes of understanding his betrayal and proving their innocence.
Meanwhile, Traveler embarks on a similar quest for answers. It turns out that he is a covert operative employed by the Fourth Branch, a division of the Department of Homeland Security, and gradually they unravel a complicated plot. By the seventh episode, Jay and Tyler reconnect with Will, and together they strive to bring the culprits to justice. They successfully abduct Jack Freed, the director of the Fourth Branch, but before they can use him as proof of their innocence, his limousine explodes and sadly the show was suddenly cancelled without any further resolution. On July 18, 2007, after just eight initial episodes, Traveler was officially discontinued. However, on September 28, 2007, David DiGilio – the creator – published an ‘answers blog’ which served as the official conclusion to the series.
