White Noise 2: The Light (2007) is a supernatural horror thriller film directed by Patrick Lussier. It serves as a standalone sequel to the 2005 film White Noise, which was directed by Geoffrey Sax. After witnessing the murder-suicide of his family at the hands of Henry Caine, Abe Dale is plunged into deep despair and tries to take his own life. However, he survives and gains an unexpected ability – the ability to foresee death. Using this power, Abe saves three individuals from dying, including a nurse named Sherry Clarke who he meets during his recovery. Through his investigations, Abe discovers that Henry had a similar gift and may have saved his family before ultimately ending their lives. Wanting to uncover more about Henry’s abilities, Abe visits his former home only to discover that Henry miraculously survived his suicide attempt.
Upon further investigation, Abe stumbles upon the concept of ‘Tria Mera’, The Third Day, which marks Christ’s resurrection. However, it is also believed that on this day, the devil takes control of those who have escaped death. Abe comes to the realization that three days after saving their lives, those he rescued will be overcome with possession and driven to end the lives of others. Despite the weight of this responsibility, Abe accepts it and faces the grim truth that he may have to take action against those he had once saved in order to prevent further tragedy. He attempts to intervene when the second man he saved begins killing innocent people, but unfortunately arrives just a moment too late. However, he manages to stop the man from taking his own life.
