Wrath of Man (2021)
Directed by Guy Ritchie and co-written by Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies, Wrath of Man (2021) is a heist action thriller film loosely based on the 2004 French film Cash Truck. Five months after the initial robbery, Patrick Hill joins Fortico Security as an armored truck guard. Terry, his manager, praises his references and the company trainer, known as ‘Bullet’, gives him the nickname ‘H’. Though Hill struggles during firearm training, he eventually starts working alongside his colleagues ‘Boy Sweat’ Dave and Dana Curtis. However, during a pickup, Bullet gets taken hostage by robbers. Hill successfully convinces a panicked Dave to comply with their demands before taking out the entire crew with expert marksmanship and ruthless efficiency. As a result, he catches the attention of FBI agents investigating the previous robbery. Despite their suspicions about Hill, Agent King tells them to lay off and leave him alone.
Five months prior to joining Fortico and on the day of the initial robbery, Hill is with his son Dougie. Despite being a member of a robbery crew, Hill reluctantly agrees to monitor an armored truck’s route and leaves Dougie in the car. However, when the truck is hijacked by another group of robbers, they see Dougie and end up murdering him while Hill helplessly watches. In the chaos, Hill himself is also shot and left for dead. After waking up in the hospital three weeks later, he meets with King who provides him with a list of suspects and promises to turn a blind eye temporarily. It is then revealed that Hill is actually Mason Hargreaves, a notorious crime lord. Driven by his desire for revenge for his son’s death, Hargreaves orders his men – including Mike, Brendan, and Moggy – to eliminate almost everyone on King’s list but to no avail.
