Wrong Turn (2003)

Wrong Turn (2003), a slasher film directed by Rob Schmidt and written by Alan B. McElroy. In this installment, two college students, Rich Stoker and Halley Smith, are rock climbing in the remote forests of West Virginia. As Rich reaches the top of a cliff, he is suddenly murdered while trying to help Halley up. She is then forced to cut the rope and falls to the ground. However, her escape attempt is cut short when she becomes entangled in barbed wire and dragged back into the woods with screams echoing through the trees. Jumping ahead in time, we meet Chris Flynn – a medical student on his way to a business meeting – driving through the mountains of West Virginia. Despite seeking directions from an unhelpful elderly gas station owner named Maynard, Chris finds a map and decides to take Bear Mountain Road.

Unfortunately, his journey comes to an abrupt halt when he collides with a car whose tires have been punctured and stops on this desolate road. A group of college students, including Jessie, Carly, Scott, Evan and Francine, are on a camping trip when they come across a disturbing discovery. The tire on their car has been deliberately punctured and wrapped with barbed wire. As they split up to find assistance, something startles Evan in the woods and he goes missing. Later, Francine stumbles upon his ear on the ground before being attacked by an unknown person who forces barbed wire into her mouth and kills her with it. Meanwhile, the rest of the group seeks refuge in a remote cabin and must hide when the owners return home.
