Z Nation (2014 — 2018)

Z Nation (2014–2018), an American horror TV series on Syfy, created by Karl Schaefer and Craig Engler and produced by The Asylum, takes place three years into a zombie apocalypse. The outbreak, caused by a deadly virus that has wiped out most of humanity, has left Alvin Bernard Murphy as the only known survivor of a zombie bite. Prior to society’s collapse, Murphy was one of three inmates at Portsmouth Naval Prison in Kittery, Maine who were part of a government-approved experiment. Each inmate received a different test vaccine and only Murphy successfully survived the injection. When the prison is overtaken by zombies and the head researcher and her team flee, Murphy is left behind. Despite being bitten multiple times, he remains uninfected due to his unique antibodies which hold the key to humanity’s last hope for a vaccine.

However, he appears to be undergoing a transformation, taking on characteristics of both zombie and human. His skin is peeling and his complexion turning blue, but he also possesses the ability to influence certain zombies he comes across. Despite these changes, he has not fully succumbed and still maintains his faculties. The show centers around his journey with a small band of survivors, led by Lieutenant Roberta Warren and Simon ‘Citizen Z’ Cruller, an accomplished hacker with extensive access to technology. Their mission is to transport Murphy from New York to the only remaining functional research lab for the Centers for Disease Control in California. But as they travel, Murphy’s true condition threatens the safety of them all.
