Zookeeper (2011)
The American fantasy comedy film Zookeeper (2011), directed by Frank Coraci, tells the story of Griffin Keyes, a dedicated head zookeeper at Franklin Park Zoo. Despite his love for the animals under his care, Griffin’s heart is broken when his girlfriend Stephanie turns down his proposal due to his job. Five years later, during an engagement party for his brother Dave, Griffin panics upon seeing Stephanie on the guest list. Dave suggests that Griffin leave the zoo and work with him at the car dealership to win back Stephanie. However, the animals hold a meeting and decide to help their beloved zookeeper find a way to win her back instead.
Jerome, the brown bear, proposes instructing Griffin in their mating techniques. However, Joe, the lion, objects due to the animal code prohibiting interactions with humans. Donald, the monkey, suggests a plan for making Griffin appear heroic when Stephanie visits the zoo tomorrow. The next day, Joe is released by Donald and confronts Stephanie and Robin, Dave’s fiancée. Unfortunately, Griffin’s failure to jump into the lion enclosure foils their plot and Joe ends up being captured by Kate, the zoo veterinarian. In his frustration upon climbing out of the enclosure, Joe accidentally yells at Griffin causing him to question Joe’s sanity. That night, breaking their code of silence, all the animals vow to teach Griffin how to win back Stephanie.
