2 Guns (2013)
Directed by Baltasar Kormákur, 2 Guns (2013) is an American action comedy starring Robert ‘Bobby’ Trench and Michael ‘Stig’ Stigman, two criminals who are actually undercover agents. Bobby works for the DEA while Stig is a US Navy SEAL and Petty Officer 1st Class with the Office of Naval Intelligence. Their mission leads them to meet drug lord Manny ‘Papi’ Greco at his Mexican farm where, instead of giving them cocaine as promised, Papi hands Bobby a large sum of cash. Back in the U.S., Bobby informs his superior Agent Jessup and colleague Deb Rees that they didn’t get the evidence they needed from Papi. Privately, he confesses to Rees, who also happens to be his mistress, that he plans to help Stig steal $3 million from Papi’s bank in Texas in order to prosecute him for tax evasion.
Stig answers to his superior, Lieutenant Commander Harold Quince, who instructs him to eliminate Bobby in order to finance covert operations. To their astonishment, they discover more than $43 million in the vault instead of the expected $3 million. Despite his surprise, Stig follows through with the order and betrays Bobby while fleeing with the money. Rather than killing him, he shoots Bobby in the upper arm, only to realize he is a DEA agent and abandons him in the desert. Once he delivers the money, Stig is double-crossed by Quince but manages to make a clean getaway. Meanwhile, an aggressive man named Earl interrogates individuals involved in the robbery and tracks down Bobby’s whereabouts. In search of the money, Bobby goes to Stig’s location but is contacted by him from a sniper post across the street.
