Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) is an American superhero film featuring the iconic DC Comics characters, Batman and Superman. In a flashback to his childhood, Bruce Wayne flees from his parents’ funeral and tumbles into a cave. As he falls, bats lift him back to the surface in a swirling vortex. In the present day, eighteen months after his epic battle with General Zod in Metropolis, Superman has become a controversial figure. Meanwhile, Bruce has been operating as the masked vigilante known as Batman in Gotham City for two decades. Being present for the destructive clash between Superman and Zod only strengthens Bruce’s belief that Superman poses a grave threat to humanity. On the other hand, Clark Kent – also known as Superman’s civilian identity – takes to writing articles for the Daily Planet which criticize Batman’s methods of enforcing justice.

Bruce discovers that Russian arms dealer Anatoli Knyazev has been communicating with LexCorp CEO Lex Luthor, prompting Luthor to attempt convincing Senator June Finch to allow him to import valuable kryptonite from the debris left behind by Zod’s attack – all in an effort to defend against potential future threats from Kryptonians. Although she initially declines, Luthor finds another way to gain access to Zod’s corpse and the Kryptonian scout ship through Finch’s subordinate. Later, at a gala hosted by LexCorp, Bruce plans to retrieve encrypted data from their mainframe. However, his efforts are thwarted when antiquities dealer Diana Prince beats him to it. Fortunately, she returns the data to him later on. As he deciphers the information on the drive, Bruce has a dream about a dystopian world where he leads rebels against a ruthless Superman.
