Cars (2006) is an American animated sports comedy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. In a world where vehicles are the main population, the Dinoco 400 race is the ultimate event of the Piston Cup season. This race heightens tension between the retiring seven-time champion, Strip ‘The King’ Weathers, the sly Chick Hicks, and the talented yet cocky rookie, Lightning McQueen. Determined to secure a spot on the renowned Dinoco team, Lightning struggles with working as a team due to his selfish demeanor. During this high-stakes competition, Lightning narrowly avoids getting caught up in Chick’s attempt to cause a major collision, but falls behind when he refuses to make a pit stop. As a result of this decision, his rear tires blow out and he falls short of winning. The race ultimately ends in a tied score between all three racers, setting up for an important rematch at the Los Angeles International Speedway one week later.
After the race, Lightning speeds through the night on the interstate to make it to California with his transporter, Mack. Unfortunately, a mishap occurs and leaves Lightning stranded in the rundown desert town of Radiator Springs. Inadvertently, he damages the main road and must now complete community service as punishment. Judge Doc Hudson, a Hudson Hornet who holds a grudge against Lightning for being a race car, assigns him the task of repaving the road under his supervision. In an attempt to finish quickly and leave town, Lightning does a hasty job of repaving. However, Doc challenges him to a race for his freedom with one condition: if Lightning loses, he must redo the road correctly. Overconfident and inexperienced on dirt tracks, Lightning spins out on an unbanked turn and crashes.
