Cars 2 (2011)

Cars 2 (2011) is an American animated spy comedy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. During a mission to rescue his fellow British spy Leland Turbo, Finn McMissile infiltrates an oil rig owned by criminal lemon cars. There, he witnesses the lemons, led by Professor Zündapp, loading a disguised electromagnetic pulse generator onto a shipping crate. Unfortunately, Turbo is killed and Finn must escape by faking his own death. Meanwhile, Lightning McQueen takes a break from racing to visit his friends in Radiator Springs after winning his fourth Piston Cup. However, he soon gets caught up in the World Grand Prix – created by electric car advocate Sir Miles Axlerod – where Italian formula race car Francesco Bernoulli challenges him to compete. Joined by his trusty friends Mater, Luigi, Guido, Fillmore and Sarge, Lightning heads to Tokyo for the first race of the event.

At a World Grand Prix promotional event, Mater causes a stir when he accidentally ingests wasabi and has a messy mishap on stage, much to Lightning’s chagrin. While cleaning up the mess, Mater inadvertently interrupts a scuffle between American spy Rod ‘Torque’ Redline and the troublesome lemons Grem and Acer. In the midst of the chaos, Redline surreptitiously places his tracking device on Mater, which leads to a case of mistaken identity by spy duo Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell. Meanwhile, Redline falls into the clutches of villainous Zündapp and is eliminated after revealing sensitive information about Allinol’s vulnerability to EMPs. Zündapp reports his success to an unidentified mastermind, while Holley enlists Mater’s help in foiling their sinister plan. As the race commences, three racers fall victim to Zündapp’s camera weapon. Though Lightning initially takes second place behind Bernoulli due to miscommunication with Mater, they both manage to evade Zündapp’s henchmen. However, Mater is later snatched up by Finn and they escape using his jet, Siddeley.
