Dangerous (2021)
Dangerous(2021), an action thriller helmed by David Hackl, was distributed in the United States and United Kingdom by Lionsgate. Reviews from critics were not favorable, citing issues with the plot and action. Dylan Forrester, a former assassin and psychopath, is trying to contain his urges with prescribed depressants under the care of Dr. Alderwood. He leaves his parole behind to travel to Guardian Island, which belongs to his family, in an effort to make amends. His mother, Linda Forrester, holds disdain for him due to his true nature and persuades him to leave. Meanwhile, Agent Shaughnessy doggedly pursues Dylan for defying parole, convinced of his dangerous nature. Sheriff McCoy of Guardian Island discovers that Dylan is a wanted fugitive and arrests him before locking him up in the island’s bunker. The arrival of fixer Cole and his team of mercenaries leads to their confrontation with Sheriff McCoy resulting in his death. Jo, an employee at the island’s hotel hears the commotion and teams up with Dylan to escape while freeing him in the process. When Cole’s crew searches the house for Dylan, he knocks out one member after overhearing their plans on a call.
Dylan takes out two members of Cole’s crew and suspects that Sean had hidden something in the house that led to Cole’s arrival on the island. However, Cole denies any connection to anyone on the island and insists that his sole interest is in whatever is located there. While searching for a way out, Dylan and the remaining survivors stumble upon a clandestine passage built by Sean. It dawns on Dylan that Sean must have joined forces with Cole in hopes of obtaining whatever valuable item they believed was on the island. After entering the passage, the group comes across a Japanese submarine housing stolen Yamashita gold from World War 2. Suddenly, Cole’s mercenaries discover their secret hideout, triggering a fierce shootout between them and Pike and Dylan, who utilize one of the submarine’s deck guns to defend themselves. In the chaos, Cole takes Linda hostage at gunpoint and coerces Dylan into helping him steal the gold. As Pike attempts to stop Cole with the deck gun, he is mercilessly shot down by Cole instead.
