Hanna (2011)
Hanna (2011), an action thriller directed by Joe Wright, follows the story of fifteen-year-old Hanna Heller and her ex-CIA operative father, Erik, who live in rural northern Finland. Raised and trained by her father since she was two, Hanna is a highly skilled assassin with expertise in hand-to-hand combat and target shooting. However, their peaceful life is disrupted when Marissa Wiegler, a senior CIA officer, seeks to eliminate Erik for knowing a dangerous secret. In response, Erik has taught Hanna everything she needs to know to kill Marissa. One night, after proving her readiness to face their enemies, Hanna activates a radio beacon to alert the CIA of their location. Though Erik warns her of the risks involved in confronting Marissa, he ultimately leaves the decision up to Hanna. He then departs with instructions for Hanna to meet him in Berlin.
Hanna is apprehended by special forces and taken to an underground CIA complex, where Marissa, acting suspiciously, sends a decoy to question her after she is requested by name. While speaking with the imposter, Hanna becomes emotional and embraces her tightly, causing unease among her captors. In response, they bring in guards to sedate her. Taking advantage of the situation, Hanna eliminates the double and several guards before fleeing. To her surprise, she discovers that she is in Morocco. There she meets Sebastian and Rachel, who are on a family vacation in their camper-van along with their children Sophie and Miles. Determined to make it to Berlin, Hanna sneaks into the vehicle before it boards a ferry to Spain.
