John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019)

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019) is an American neo-noir action thriller film directed by Chad Stahelski. The story follows John Wick as he navigates through Manhattan, where he finds himself in trouble for the unauthorized assassination of High Table crime lord Santino D’Antonio on Continental grounds. While at the New York Public Library, he acquires a marker medallion and rosary before being injured in a fight with hitman Ernest. Seeking medical treatment from an underworld doctor, John’s excommunicado status becomes active, forcing him to finish the suturing himself before being pursued by a series of assassins whom he takes down. He then meets with The Director, leader of the Ruska Roma crime syndicate and former acquaintance of John’s, presenting a rosary as he demands safe passage to Casablanca. Upon some hesitation, the Director agrees to help John due to their past connection.

It is also revealed that John Wick’s given name was actually Jardani Jovonovich. As this information comes to light, a High Table Adjudicator arranges a meeting with Winston, manager of the New York Continental, and the Bowery King, informing them that they have seven days to step down from their positions due to their involvement in assisting John. To carry out this punishment, the Adjudicator enlists the help of Zero, a Japanese assassin, and commands him to punish the Director by stabbing her through both hands. In another location, John reunites with his former colleague and current manager of the Moroccan Continental, Sofia. He presents her with a marker signifying a debt she owes him; he had previously saved her daughter and placed her in hiding. John requests Sofia’s assistance in locating the Elder, rumored to be above even the High Table. Despite some reluctance, Sofia agrees and leads John to Berrada, her former employer.
