Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010)

Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010), an action horror film written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, is the second installment in the series to be helmed by Anderson. Alice and her clones launch an attack on Umbrella HQ in Tokyo, wiping out all members except for Albert Wesker who manages to escape in a tiltrotor plane. He sets off a bomb that creates a massive sinkhole, as the real Alice, who had already boarded the plane, attempts to eliminate him. However, he injects her with an anti-virus that strips her of her superhuman abilities. It is then revealed that Wesker has used the T-virus to gain his own powers and he prepares to kill Alice before their plane crashes into the mountains. Six months later, Alice heads to Alaska in search of a safe haven called Arcadia after receiving broadcasts about it; but instead encounters deserted planes and is attacked by a wild Claire Redfield. She manages to disable a spider-like device on Claire’s chest, causing her amnesia and rendering her docile.

They journey to the ruins of Los Angeles, where they come across survivors inhabiting a prison surrounded by an army of undead. Among them are Luther West, the head of the remaining group within the prison walls, and his companions Wendell, Crystal Waters, Bennett, Kim Yong, and Angel Ortiz. With their assistance, Alice reaches the rooftop of the prison and discovers that Arcadia is not a stationary location but rather a cargo tanker traveling along the coast. However, it seems that the ship has been motionless for some time and has not responded to their rescue signals. In order to find answers, Luther escorts Alice to one of the last inmates named Chris, who claims he is innocent and promises to share a way out in exchange for his freedom. While taking a shower to freshen up, Alice catches Wendell attempting to spy on her. She holds him at gunpoint as they are unexpectedly ambushed by a horde of infected creatures who have broken into the prison walls.
